Use of treatment

Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment is use in coordination with other treatments. 
The following indications are recognized by the Ministry of Health and Social Services in Quebec:

1. Gas Embolism
2. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
3. Gas Gangrene
4. Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infections
5. Crush injury
6. Decompression Sickness
7. Enhancement of Healing in selected Problem Wounds
8. Exceptional Blood Lost
9. Osteomyelitis (Refractory)
10. Delayed Radiation Injury ( Soft Tissue and Bony Necrosis)
11. Skin grafts and flaps ( Compromised)
12. Intracranial Abscess

Theses indications are also recognized by the world’s authority on Hyperbaric medicine the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).

The delivered excess oxygen will promote wound healing in diabetic patient when standard wound care is not enough because of an infection or when antibiotics aren’t doing their job.

Therefore, through different mechanism, hyperbaric oxygen treatment will stimulate cellular vascularity and promote new vessel formation, thus making hyperbaric oxygen treatment an excellent effect for scaring.  Breathing 100% oxygen in a hyperbaric environment, raise the partial pressure of oxygen in the blood by more than 20 times the normal partial pressure.  
This augmentation is the fundamental basis for efficiency for the treating carbon monoxide poisoning.
